In today’s world, effective waste management and sustainable innovation have become crucial for environmental conservation and economic growth. The concept of "Waste to Wealth" encourages creative solutions that transform discarded or unused materials into valuable products, thereby promoting sustainability. With this vision, The Postgraduate Chemistry Department of Surana College successfully organized an interdepartmental event titled "Waste to Wealth Ideas Expo – 2025" on 22nd July 2025. The primary objective of this event was to promote innovative thinking, sustainability, and environmental consciousness by encouraging students to convert waste into useful resources—echoing the core principles of sustainable development.

Participation and Events

Students from diverse academic backgrounds and semesters, including B.Sc., BCA, BBA, and M.Sc., participated with great enthusiasm. They formed interdisciplinary teams and showcased their talents in three main categories: Short Talk, Poster Presentation, and Slide Presentation. A total of 45 students and 3 faculty members attended the event, demonstrating creativity and scientific thinking through various models, prototypes, and visual presentations.

Judging and Feedback Session

The event was evaluated by:

  • Dr. Harish, Chief Examination Officer (CEO), Surana College
  • Dr. Naveen Kumar T, Head, PG Chemistry Department

The judges evaluated each presentation based on clarity of thought, presentation skills, practical application, and originality of ideas.

Results and Certificates

Upon conclusion, the judges announced winners in the categories of Best Poster Presentation, Best Short Talk, and Best Slide Presentation. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the winners, acknowledging their creativity, communication skills, and environmental awareness to inspire future participation.
