Department Overview

The Department of Samskrita, established in 1995, focuses on the holistic upliftment of students in all walks of life. Over the past few years, the student strength has increased to nearly 200. The department strives to inculcate the values of ancient Indian culture along with modern education through various academic and cultural activities such as Samskritotsava, seminars, workshops, educational tours, and competitions related to the Indian Knowledge System. Students actively participate in inter-collegiate events under the able guidance of their teachers.

Samskrita is taught for four semesters to students of BA, BSc, BCA, BCom, BBA and as an Open Elective course. Languages provide a medium for fresh thinking, clarity of expression, and intellectual development. Sanskrit, with its rich heritage and educational value, has stood the test of time for millennia and has contributed immensely to the knowledge systems of society. The department aims to disseminate this knowledge in a systematic and enriching manner while aligning the curriculum with emerging academic focus areas.

The Open Elective course is offered to students from different disciplines, enabling them to gain exposure beyond their chosen field of study.
