Celebrating the Undergraduate Class of 2026

Surana College (Autonomous) celebrated the graduation of its 2023–2026 Undergraduate Batch on 10 July 2026. The graduating class achieved remarkable academic success, with the Department of Computer Applications (BCA) recording an outstanding institutional high of 94.85%. Students also showcased excellence through multidisciplinary research, innovation, and industry-oriented projects, preparing themselves for an increasingly AI-driven professional landscape.

The Graduation Ceremony

The Graduation Day commenced with the traditional academic procession at the Main Auditorium, South End Campus, Bengaluru. The ceremony reflected the institution's academic traditions through an elegant invocation dance, ceremonial lamp lighting, and the formal welcome of graduates, faculty members, dignitaries, parents, and guests.

Academic Leadership

The ceremony was presided over by distinguished academic leaders including Managing Trustee Dr. Archana Surana, Principal Dr. Bhavana, Controller of Examinations Dr. Harish, and Professor Mini K. Abraham from the Department of Commerce. Graduates from BA, BSc, BCA, BBA, and BCom programmes were honoured for successfully completing their undergraduate journey.

Institutional Status Report

Professor Mini K. Abraham presented the Institutional Status Report, highlighting the remarkable academic, research, innovation, cultural, and community achievements accomplished by the graduating undergraduate batch during their three-year journey at Surana College.

Faculty of Arts (BA)

Two students published independent books titled The Secret Life of Little Things and The Scars of Our Life. History students also completed a 538-km archaeological expedition under "Heritage as a Mission". In collaboration with the Mythic Society, they digitally documented 47 hero stones, 14 inscriptions, 11 temples, 12 temple architectural designs, and 21 sculptures, contributing to the preservation of Karnataka's cultural heritage.

Faculty of Science (BSc)

Science students actively participated in seed-grant research projects, carrying out laboratory-based research that promoted scientific innovation, experimentation, and practical learning within the college.

Department of Computer Applications (BCA)

The BCA department secured the Overall Championship Trophy at a prestigious intercollegiate IT Fest while students earned multiple Best Paper Research Awards, reflecting excellence in technical innovation and research.

Department of Business Administration (BBA)

BBA students secured victories in eight intercollegiate management fests, demonstrating excellence in strategy, leadership, and business management. Students also published three research papers on recognized academic platforms.

Extracurricular & Social Impact Highlights

Beyond academics, Surana students continued to excel in cultural, creative, and community initiatives. Achievements included representation at the Indian Hip Hop Championship, a Doordarshan B-Grade Artist accreditation, the Best Actress Award at the Beyond X Global International Film Festival for the short film Ja, seven consecutive intercollegiate fashion championship titles, and 68 Rotaract social impact initiatives that earned 18 civic awards.

Chief Guest's Keynote Address

 

Chief Guest Mr. K. Ullas Kamath, Founder of UK & Co., Master Consultant, and Member of the Court of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), delivered a thought-provoking keynote on the impact of Artificial Intelligence, future careers, and the evolving global workforce. His address inspired graduates to embrace lifelong learning, adaptability, and leadership in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Mr. Kamath concluded by emphasizing that Artificial Intelligence is transforming traditional jobs and creating new opportunities for innovation. He encouraged graduates to become job creators rather than job seekers, invest continuously in higher education and skill development, and dedicate a portion of their income to lifelong learning in order to thrive in the future workplace.

The Graduation Oath was administered by Controller of Examinations Dr. Harish. As parents and guests looked on, the graduating class rose together to take the official oath, reaffirming their commitment to integrity, responsibility, professionalism, and service to society.

"I pledge to use my knowledge and wisdom for the betterment of society and the advancement of humanity. I shall perform my duties with honesty, integrity, discipline, professionalism, and compassion. I shall respect the Constitution of India, uphold the rule of law. I shall protect the environment, uphold ethical values, and act responsibly towards future generations. With sincerity, courage, and a sense of purpose, I pledge to be a responsible citizen, an ethical professional, and a compassionate human being. This I solemnly affirm."

A Memorable Conclusion

Dr. Harish reminded graduates that a degree is not merely a measure of academic achievement but a responsibility to uphold values, ethics, and professionalism throughout their lives. He emphasized that true success will be determined by the character and integrity they demonstrate beyond the classroom.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Professor Chandana from the Department of Hindi, followed by the National Anthem. With this, the graduates officially became proud members of the Surana College Alumni community, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their personal and professional journeys.
