• Ankur Sahityik Sangh

Ankur Sahityik Sangh was officially inaugurated for this year’s events by Chandana Jain (HOD of Hindi department), Mrs. Radhika(co-ordinator of humanity department) & Mrs Medhini Prabhu (HOD of English) on the 27th of July 2018.

• UNQUOTE THE QUOTE (27th July)

There were a few quotes given to the students from which they had to choose one each and explain the quote in Hindi with a maximum time limit of 3 minutes. This event promoted the students’ knowledge in a philosophical aspect.

• BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION (28th July)

The club came up with a creative way to promote reading skills amidst the students with a book review competition where the students had to come and summarize about a novel they had read earlier. The students were judged based on their presentation skills, speaking skills and their confidence.

• FIELD TRIP TO KINHAL ART AND CRAFT EXHIBITION (7th July)

To motivate the students and to promote and enlighten them about the art and craft of our nation’s culture the club had sponsored a trip to IGNOU – Indira Gandhi National Open University. They were made to explore the KINHALART EXHIBITION.

• 1. KINHAL is a particular method to craft toys by wood at a particular season. The toys are dyed with natural colours for safety measures. The students discovered that there were only 400 Kinhal artists left and the students got a chance to interview a few Kinhal artists too.

• DRAMA WORKSHOP: BHOOK (8 August)

The club made sure to bring out the artistin the students by conducting a drama workshop for them. The theme of the drama was “BHOOK” that is HUNGER to quest their greed. Many students initiated with their interests and put up a great show to the audience to gather a lot of appreciation.

• HINDI DIVAS: 24 September

Pooja Ram RohithVannarth was the chief guest of the celebrated event. She spoke about the language and enlightened the students with key facts and information about the widely spoken language. She also enlightened with the career opportunities available by taking Hindi as a main stream subject.

• Achievement by Students

Department of Hindi students from BCA and B.Com Stream attended the fest conducted in Jain Mahaveer college, Kolar District on 14/09/2018-19 and bagged 1st prize in Treasure Hunt, Memory game and Translation from English to Hindi.

• PAPER PRESENTATION

Ms.Chandanajain and Dr.KaaluLalKulmi presented a paper in ASC college. The presentation was awarded the “Best Paper”.

• CHANGE IN UNDER WATER LIFE: 16th October

By witnessing the underwater pollution in the marine bodies, The WCC along with ANKUR SAHITYIK SANGH presented an “UNDERWATER LIFE AWARENESS PROGRAMME” which depicted the change in underwater life.The programme showcased the importance to keep the water bodies clean and the adverse effects of polluting them. Alakananda gave an effective speech on the current under water pollution crisis situation and the different ways to preserve it.

• LECTURE BY STUDENTS AND DEBATE COMPETITION

To make academics fun to learn, there was a lecture presented by the students regarding ‘Being superstitious’ , ‘Effects of nuclear bomb’, Autobiography of scientists and industrialists’
