Dengue Awareness Drive was organized by the student’s council. Awareness was created about the treacherousness of the disease and safe ways to curb its widespread.

An intracollege poster making competition was conducted on the theme Anti Ragging. The students of the college actively took part and the posters were displayed in the campus.

The leadership program was organized by the student support council on 28^th July 2018. Ms. Maya Chandra, Independent film maker delivered a guest lecture on leadership qualities and capacity building. Also Maya Chandra administered oath to the council members stating their duties and responsibilities. The initiation of the activities for 2018 – 2019 was declared open.

Surana Student Support and Council organized SwacchBharathAbhiyan – A cleanliness drive on 28^th July 2018.

For this activity all the council members and the students joined their hands for the cleanliness drive. The locality around South end road was cleaned by the students and also painting of the walls was done giving the streets a makeover.

To Commemorate the International youth day ,YEAH – YOUTH EMPOWERED IN ACTION FOR HUMANITY was organized on 19^th August 2018  in Senate hall Center college. On behalf of YEAH we from Student Support Council of Surana College conducted these following events:

Our students secured 1^stPrize, 2nd prize and 3^rd prize in Essay, Poetry and story writing competition and bagged 2^nd Prize in painting competition.

The members of Students Council performed a few cultural programmes on the occasion of Independence day celebrations in the college. The events are as follows:

• A group song by the students
• A patriotic dance mash up
• A mime show dedicated to our Armed forces

 

A guest lecture was organized on management strategy and marketing skills on 9^th September 2018.  The resource person was ChannaBullannavar, Area Manager, Future Group, Chennai. He spoke about different case studies related to the marketing field.

The SSC in association with the Rotaract Club of Surana College organized “No food waste” awareness drive on 21^st October 2018.  On account of world food day, the event was organized in Jain temple, Attibele. The oath was administered to the public to not waste food.

SSC in association with Decathlon, Bangalore organized a Camo Eco Walk on 26^th January 2019. The students paid their tribute to the Armed Forces. A cleanliness drive was also organized and the plastics were collected in huge quantity.

Our Alumni Mr. G. Hariprasad, Chartered Accountant, interacted with our students on 29^th January 2019. He motivated our students by his inspiring words and stressed on the importance of academics and capacity building skills.

By observing the statistics; 75% of the world suffers through eye problems. These problems are most observed in the students and working class people and is evident that eye problems occur at old age.

Hence the student support and council of Surana College associated with Nethradhama super speciality eye hospital and organized a free eye check up camp. this camp mainly concentrated on students, working class and neighbors of the college.

Before the camp could start,it was very important for the students to know about the eye problems they suffer through and how to overcome those problems. Hence , there was a very informative presentation by Dr. Krithi , a senior doctor from Nethradhama eye hospital.

The students and the public first registered themselves and went through 3 phases of eye check up. Totally 247people got their eye check up.

The event was a huge success. The eye camp was headed by Dr. shruti and the subordinating doctors were Dr. Banu,Dr. Kalpana and their assistances.

Student Council of Surana College in association with Bangalore Political Action Committee (BPAC)  conducted voter’s enrollment drive titled “Democracy Warriors”. The objective of this drive was to enroll all the students who are 18 years and above, to include their names in the voters list. So this would enable them to cast their vote in the upcoming loksabha elections. Tracking of thirvoters id and inclusion their name in voters list was tracked by B-PAC

Student council organized prominent personality engagement -PEP talk program with DCP Annamalai, South Bangalore. Totally 12 students participated in the interaction program, his speech was very motivative and  inspiring. Students feel more proud about Indian police after this interaction session.
