ABOUT THE CLUBS
The Humanities Club works to promote an understanding of the humanities with the Program and across the humanities disciplines. It encourages community involvement through cultural experiences such as plays and concerts, as well as through analysis and discussion of various works in the discipline, such as literature, art, psychology, journalism and tourism.
SPOT LIGHT CLUB: Department of Journalism
The main objective of the spotlight club is to empower the media aspirants with artistic talents that make them capable to be resourceful and competitive in ever changing media scenario. The club offers plethora of opportunities to understand the latest developments in the media, both in style and content. Activities like debates, newsletter publishing, wall mags, quizzes, etc., are a few events where students get opportunities to become more expressive.
The spotlight also held regular workshops and seminars for the student journalists to attain hands-on experiences. Moreover, every year the club organizes internship programme for promising journalists.
TOURISMO – Tourism Club (Department of Tourism)
Tourism club was initiated and started functioning effectively with the main aim of creating budding tourism entrepreneurs. It offers hands–on experience to theoretical knowledge imparted in classroom.It enables students to prepare tour itineraries, model making of historical attractions and develops event management skill in them.
Every year, World Tourism Day is organized by conducting various activities and competitions for students. Few among the events were food fest, model exhibition, poster display, photography competition etc.
It also conducts events which creates simulative learning environment for the students such as tourist information office and mock tour guide.
In addition to it, the club also conducts guest lecture programmes, field trips and enables student participation in various tourism workshops.
INGITHA CLUB: Department of Psychology
The INGITHA Club from the Department of Psychology aims to generate awareness about the various domain of Psychology and helps involvement of students in seminars, projects and presentations. The club is not limited to psychology majors and is open to anyone with an interest in psychology.
Various internships programmes are provided by INGITHA Club in various well known psychiatric hospitals.
The Club works toward assisting students in reaching their academic and professional goals. The club also conducts various guest lecture programmes, field visits and value added courses. Various activities are also conducted by INGITHA club like psychometric tests, wall mags, quiz, webinars, presentations etc.
CITIZEN FORUM CLUB: Department of Political Science
Citizen Forum Club promotes interest in politics and provides political science students with new opportunities to explore the world of politics as a possible profession. The club will also act as a debate society where members will be permitted to discuss issues of politics and political science in elaboration and with individuals who may possess differing opinions and ideologies.
One of the successful events conducted by the forum is mock election.
HERITAGE CLUB: Department of History
The Heritage Club welcomes all students interested in the past; one need not be a history major to join. The Club provides a forum outside of the classroom for students interested in historical study, discussion, and debate, as well as organizing visits or tours to historical sites.
The Club will invite guest speakers to address the club, organize or participate in competitions, present film showings or create other activities that promote the Heritage Club and their interests.
THE YOUNG INVESTOR CLUB: The Department of Economics established “The Young Investor Club” to motivate the students to enlighten Economics knowledge through activities and field visits. The following activities listed below are conducted:
- Debate on early investment
- Exhibition of all country currency
- RBI visits
- Market survey
- Project on budget allotment
- Guest lecture
- Economics time newspaper reading
- Collage, Essay writing, inter class competition etc,..
