About the Club

ABOUT THE CLUB

“ESOTERIC – the IT Club” made its humble beginning on 31^st May 2002 with an aim of bridging the gap between campus and corporate. It was an initiative by the Department of Computer Science.

The word “ESOTERIC” means “a Group of People with Common Interests”! Esoteric – The IT Club of Surana College is a group of students, teachers, industrialists, and alumni committed to a common cause – TECHNOLOGY.

ESOTERIC provides a quality student-centric hub that encourages all CS students to improve not just academically, but also participate in college and external activities. ESOTERIC has been providing a technical platform to students for the last 2 decades to become better entrepreneurs/developers/managers in the IT industry.

	GNU UNIX CLUB	The mission of this club is to help students realize the power of the free-and-open-source software.
	DIGITAL ARTS– The Graphic Design Club –You imagine, we Image it	The mission of the club is to promote creative growth and awareness of graphic design.
	WEB-DEV– Web Development Club – Creating websites that breathe	To promote learning and professional growth in the field of web development.
	AppDroid CLUB – App Development Club – Dream, Design, Develop	The goal of the AppDroid CLUB is turn ideas into beautiful feature-rich mobile apps at NO COST.
FORUMS
	IT FORUM – Interaction of IT Industry Experts with students	IT is playing an important role in India today and has transformed India’s image from a slow moving bureaucratic economy to a land of innovations
	ED FORUM – FORUM FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP – It’s not about ideas. It’s making them happen	ED Club helps to inculcate Entrepreneurial Culture amongst youth and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of Enterprise for the new generation.
	NEWS LETTER FORUM	Verve stands for enthusiasm! Verve is an internal communication tool which has comprehensive coverage of department activities and achievements.
	WE – CARE INITIATIVE FORUM	Every year a visit to an orphanage or an old-age home scheduled to inculcate social responsibility in young minds.
	AVIEW FORUM	AVIEW is a virtual classroom. It is sharing platform where, through which a teacher can reach out a large number of geographically available students at the same time

ESOTERIC ACTIVITIES

SEASON 1

ARTICULATE – Pick and Speak: Enhances instant thinking and speaking ability on a given topic and helps to overcome stage fear
DIGITAL MARKETING – Showcase designing skills, advertising, and marketing competence
PATH FINDER: An online treasure hunt, collaboration of fun and technical thinking
PAPER PRESENTATION: It’s about presenting and getting acquitted with the latest ideas and technologies.

SEASON 2

PRODUCT RE-LAUNCH: Planting seeds of entrepreneurship in young minds.
GROUP DISCUSSION: Group Discussion improves speaking ability team and value other’s opinions.
LOGICAL SKILLS: Helps to test logical and debugging ability of participants.
IT MANAGER: Participants pass through several rounds like aptitude, interview, stress management

Club Activities

CLUB ACTIVITIES

AppDroid Club

“Android App Development” course was organized for BCA and BSc students. Students were taught to create an Android App. Course ended with an App Development competition and certificate distribution.
BCAssist is an app developed by BCA students. It is a handheld assistant to every computer science student.

Graphic Designing Workshop

A two-day workshop was conducted on Graphic Designing as part of Esoteric IT-Club on 8^th and 9^th of September 2017 to enrich and enhancing graphic knowledge for BCA and B.Sc Students.

Entrepreneurship Forum

A seminar on “Entrepreneur Skills” was organized for students. The idea behind having such a seminar was to guide the students about start-ups ventures at various stages such as innovation, identifying advanced technologies and growth in the wake of disruptions. Speaker of the day was Ms.Nanda Tunga an Image consultant and a Soft Skills Trainer
