Library
The Library and Information Centre in the Surana College, PG Department was established in the year 2005 with a sole purpose to quench the thirst of knowledge and to fulfill the concerned needs of both the faculty and the students.
It is the heat of the academic centre and functions with an aim to provide ‘Anytime, Anywhere Access’ to information and knowledge. The library contributes and supports SCPGC in transforming into business leadership. It plays a proactive role in enabling access to information resources of all kind and providing innovative, responsive and effective service to meet changing needs of the academic community.
SCPGC- Library operates in two floors of the main building, which is spread in an area of 3834 Sq Ft Area with 120 seating capacity. This building is divided into different sections like Reference Section, Periodicals, Digital Library, Audio-Visual Section, Group Discussion table and General Reading hall.
The library has in its store a tremendous collection of about 13,205 volumes, 116 journals, 1400 AV Materials, 100 Journal Bound Volumes, and 1300 Micro Documents (Projects).
- Well Stocked Library – over 3000 titles and 8000 volumes.
- Holds IIM-B membership for inter-library loans and references.
- A wide range of material from archives and books to magazines, newspapers, audio-video cassettes and CDs.
- Large number of magazines and journals, both national and international, numbering over 85 per taining only to the field of Management.
- Online databases- DELNET and J-Gate, through which access to over 50,000 e-journals is provided to the students.
- Photo-copying, Internet access and Image scanning services are provided to the students within the library premises.
Periodical Section:
The Library is subscribing for 116 journals (32 International, 94 Indian) of Management, Computer Science and Psychology that are systematically displayed in the journal section.
Library Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
During the time of examination, Library remains open till 6:00 PM for the benefit of students.

Library Rules
- Members should have ID card for reference and borrowing of library documents.
- Members are required to deposit their personal belongings at the property counter at their risk. The library is not responsible for any loss or damage to the same.
- Bringing the bags, files and personal books into the library are strictly prohibited.
- Refreshments or foodstuff of any kind should not be consumed anywhere inside the library.
- Keeping in mind that the library is a place of individual study and research, members should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the library premises.
- Members should return all books/documents borrowed from the library before proceeding on any kind of long leave.
- Library documents should be handled with utmost care. Nobody should write, damage, or make any note on them
SURSANGRAM – Inter-Collegiate IT Fest
5th & 6th November 2019
SUR SANGRAM is a forum for the young, zestful, creative, potential technical professionals of tomorrow, who contribute their ideas, views, and vision for INDIA. Students from various institutions offering Computer Application as its course are expected to be a part of this annual event. The Fest focuses on the theme of managing the technical skills, along with providing students a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents in cultural activities.
“SUR SANGRAM – 2019” organized on 5th & 6th November 2019 with a theme – “Apotheosis”. The Department of MCA had focused on the theme of managing the technical skills, apart from providing students a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents in cultural activities.
Many students from various institutions offering Computer Application as its course have visited the campus to participate in various events.
The students of the Department organized the events under the guidance of faculty members.
Following were the list of events conducted by Department of MCA:
1.EVENT –X: An event with variety of rounds to test technical skills
2. CODING & DEBUGGING : Coding and debugging event in C, C++ and JAVA
3. IT – QUIZ: A technical quiz event based on audio-visual questionnaire.
4. PROJECT EXHIBITION: A demo on projects
5. GOOGLE-i(LOGO DESIGN) : Designing a logo based on given theme

ROTARACT CLUB
Rotaract Club of Surana College Post Graduate Departments is a social club on the campus to cultivate social responsibility amongst students. The club organizes many socio cultural events throughout the year. The club provides the services in the avenues of community, professional and international, service both within & outside the college. The aim of the club is to improve the attitude & behavior of the society we live in. the club works with the theme “Society for All”.
ACTIVITIES OF ROTARACT CLUB – 2018-19
Donation of clothes to orphanage and old age homes
Volunteers from PG Rotaract club collected clothes from all the students & faculty on 15th, 16th & 17th December 2018. The clothes were donated to SUKANKSHA CHARITABLE TRUST near Magadi main road.
Interdisciplinary National Conference 13th & 14th November 2019
“RTMIP 2019-RECENT TRENDS IN MANAGEMENT, IT & PSYCHOLOGY “
An Interdisciplinary National Conference on “Digital Social Responsibility and Cyber Counselling” with the agenda of integrating innovative ideas, research studies and recent trends across the field of Management, Information Technology and Psychology.
The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Harikrishna Maiya, Assistant Commissioner, Customs, GST & Narcotics.
A panel discussion on the theme was held on day 2 moderated by Mr. Raghunandan Sir
Many Research papers based on the theme were presented at the conference. Over 100 delegates from both student and academic fraternity have attended the conference.
SRUJANA – Cultural Club
Srujana is a cultural club formed to create awareness about Indian culture. The Club conducts periodical cultural programs representing the various facets of Indian culture. Srujana provides a platform for the students for exhibiting their inbuilt talent.
